Dancing From The Heart

West Coast Swing is a very personal dance. As soon as any of us get past the point of remembering where the feet are supposed to go, your personality plays a part in how you dance and respond to your partners and the music. Even dancing to the same song with the same partner, there is a tendency to see changes in your dancing that reflect how you feel at that moment rather than a cookie cutter repeat of the earlier twirl around the floor.
 
Beth and I consistently talk about the "Dance Jungle" and how to be safe and get comfortable in those sometimes wild and wooly environments. However, just as in the days of the big safari's, the chances to explore new ideas and new connections between the partner you have and the music you hear are incredible and lead us always to new discoveries. Many times, those insights are about are own abilities and the need to express your feelings, desires and moods.
 
We spend a lot of time stressing that LA Style WCS is about giving you the most options in your dancing. With the most flexibility comes some additional commitment to understanding how to use those options. It also gives you the best tools to get you to the point where you can express yourself and really enjoy what dancing is all about. Celebrate life, your community, your individuality and share that happiness with others. You are one of a kind and your dance will reflect that. We'll be there dancing right along beside you and sometimes with you. Beth and I appreciate all of you and just wish you much love and dancing, always!
