Finding Your "AHA!"

Way back at the beginning of my efforts in dance, I was at a workshop. The session was on breaks and music and was taught by Mary Ann Nunez.
 
During the class, she decided on a contest to see who was doing the best at picking up the material she was teaching and I managed to put on a convincing show that I had an idea what was going on. The prize? Dancing a spotlight with her...
 
2 minutes later, I had proven that I had the talent of a lawn dwarf! Mary Ann kindly danced around the statue I became to entertain everyone, then encouraged me to begin breathing again before I fainted in a blue tinge.
 
A couple years later, I danced with Mary Ann again and found out that I could manage a credible dance. I still couldn't breathe through most of it, but could follow her instructions to take a gulp of air or two during the dance to keep me moving.
 
The bottom line to this story is we all have these moments, but with encouragement from those around us and more confidence through a better understanding of your chosen dance, we all survive and can prosper. It is easy to say that we should all conquer our fears and in doing so find the answers we seek in anything we do. More helpful though is finding people around you who through mutual support will grow and help you overcome these situations and obstacles. Don't let naysayers into your circle. Focus on the positive and you will go far in anything you do. Give that support to those around you and you will find that the energy you sent their way will come back tenfold. Remember that the ONLY way to the cool room is through the geek room!
